Mt 4 Carina Gonzalez A. Per 7 economics Career choices Mt 4 Carina Gonzalez A. Per 7 economics

My 3 career choices First priority: Nurse Secondary choice: Crime scene investigator Third option: Cosmetologist/Beautician

Do your 3 options have a union or association? When it came to my first choice in career I found that nurses have an association called the California Nurses Association. My secondary choice which was a Crime Scene Investigator did not have a union or an association. Well I did my best to find one, but I didn’t find anything that was even close to being an union or association. As for my third option which is the beautician or cosmetologist career I found the PBA which stands for the Professional Beauty Association.

How long has the association or union been around? The California Nurses Association was founded in 1903 and to this day has made a big difference. In the CSI career I can not state how long a union or association has been around because I was unable to find a union/association. The Professional Beauty Association was founded in a while back in the year of 1976.

What do the associations do for you? This association has helped in a way in which they are building power by getting more people to join, they are fighting for patients, and they are making a difference by improving the healthcare. Once again with out finding a union or association for the CSI job I can not elaborate as to when it was founded and what it has done to help. The P.B.A has helped by advancing the professional beauty industry by proving members with education, charitable outreach, government advocacy, events and more.

Have there been any recent problem? One problem faced recently in the nurse industry would be the Sutter’s $1 Billion Boondoggle. The article I found also titled it the “New Electronic Records System Goes Dark.” This was released on August, 27, 2013. This has also been left unknown for the Crime Scene Investigation due to the lack of information. In the cosmetology work force some problems involve were things such as the “nail plate safety and gel nail lamp safety. “

Will these careers continue to expand? As my primary job the outlook of a nurse job is expected to grow and be in demand over the next several years/ decades as the population is believed to continue to increase as well. Being my secondary job option it is good to know that the CSI force is expected to continue to grow due to the fact that the amount of crime is also expected to grow. In cosmetology the industry is expected to be an industry that continues to expand because people just simply need to have haircuts, nails done, have their hair styled, their make up done and all of that good stuff.

What types of goods or services are provided and at what cost? For all three jobs I could not find anything about the types of goods and or services that nurses, CSI and cosmetologist/ beauticians provide and or produce.

Is there a chance you’d have to relocate? When thinking about being a nurse the idea of having to relocate would have to be something I think about thoroughly because with this job having to move to different places to keep my job is a huge possibility. If I joined the CSI team I would also have to think about relocating in order to find or keep my job. As a possible beautician moving to a different place because of my job is also a possibility because the demand can easily go up in one place and lower in another. *This goes for all three jobs the demand in one place would play a big role.

Is the a chance technology could replace you? There are some jobs that a machine can replace in the medical field such as surgical procedures (surgeons) but the original job of a nurse to help, be caring, tender and aid with sensitivity as well as applying good communication can simply not be replace by a machine because it involves feelings and human communication that are beyond mere technology. It is hard to tell whether a machine can take the place of a CSI and I couldn’t find a direct answer due to the fact that in this kind of job in order to process evidence etc… the use of machines is needed…

Technology replace you part 2 but the use of a human is needed as well, but I believe that technology couldn’t replace a CSI because they do a lot more of the thinking and a big part of the difficult CSI work is done by a person. A beautician or cosmetologist will more than likely not be able to be replaced by machinery because although like the other 3 jobs this one involves machines the use of a human is much more valuable in the industry.

Is there a lot of competition in this career The nurse career does indeed have a lot of competition and as of now there are way more graduates who are graduating and trying to find a job in their new major or degree, yet they are finding it pretty difficult to obtain one … it may be viewed as a job were you will never be left unemployed but the hard, cold truth is that this job isn’t really a guarantee into the business world if you can’t even enter it to start with, so the best thing here is to do your best to stand out from every other nurse whose trying to get the same job as you and then get the job in the medical field and then you will have more of a guarantee to stay there for a long while for the reason that as the population increases and crime goes up to as well as sicknesses the demand for nurses will continue to increase too.

Competition part 2… there is always a big amount of competition when it comes to the department of justice, but crime lab professionals who hold an advanced degree or certification will find it easier to get the best job opportunities…. But it has been evaluated that as the population increases the amounts of crime will too therefore the need for the department of justice will continue to be in demand. There is competition involved just like in the prior jobs and for a similar reason; the better you are at your job and the more experienced/ higher degree you have the more desirable you are in this industry… some good news though is that it has been predicted that the demand for a cosmetologist will continue to grow as the population grows.

What is the average wage for this job? The average wage of a nurse (RN) may vary depending on the location, but estimated a nurse can make less than $43,410 or more than $92,240 per year and $27.27 an hour. Like nursing, depending on the location of where you begin your work can play a big role on your annual earnings and your hourly earnings. Depending on the degree you may have and whether you are the bottom class in your job the middle or the highest with the most experience you make anywhere from $32,760 up to $84,980 and their hourly earnings are$26.76. A cosmetologist can earn anywhere from less than $16,710 up to $41,490 this is also dependent on the location and the experience.

What type of training/education is required for this job? The education needed in this industry is an associate’s degree in nursing but a bachelor’s in science would be better. “All nursing education programs require a combination of classroom and hands-on training, but the specific requirements vary depending on the type of nurse you'd like to be.” For a CSI a Bachelor’s degree is needed, but this can easily vary depending on your location of state and their view of the education required in getting this job. Some places may require a four year degree at a college/ university, some may want you to just have specific knowledge in the forensic field and others may require you to take other courses such as chemistry, anatomy, and criminal law…in addition “the educational requirements for a CSI are tightly focused on the duties associated with the position.

Part 2 for education/ training needed One state that does not specifically require a completed degree program does set a minimum 720 hours of training in crime scene processing includes 80 hours of latent fingerprint processing training and 40 hours each in the areas of photography, death investigations, and interpretation of blood spatter with other courses in forensic pathology and arson investigation.” For cosmetology a high school diploma or a G.E.D may be required (an associate’s degree is possibly needed when becoming a licensed cosmetologist) and a cosmetology program which may be offered at vocational schools, community colleges and for-profit beauty schools.

Is there a chance of advancement? Yes, there is a chance of advancement and the higher the degree such as a bachelor’s the better your chance for advancement. There is an opportunity for advancement but it also depends on the degree you may have and the experience. There is an opportunity here as well for advancement because cosmetologist start off doing simple things and as they evolve they do more complex things. I couldn’t find anything about the types of goods or/and services that a cosmetologist produces/ provides.
