ACCOUNT AND SITE SETUP: SETUP FOR SUCCESS! CHRISTOPHER ZACK| OMNIUPDATE

Account and Site Setup OU CAMPUS OFFERS MANY OPTIONS WHEN IT COMES TO SETUP OF YOUR ACCOUNT AND SITE These options allow you to enforce standards across your site. It’s important to have these options configured before your editors are allowed within your OU Campus instance.

New Account Settings Page Check Single Sign On Add-Ons ACCOUNT LEVEL SETTINGS APPLY TO EVERY SITE WITHIN YOUR ACCOUNT Page Check Single Sign On Add-Ons

Page Check Want your editors to check the spelling before they publish? Page check determines which optional checks are available when viewing and publishing a page. Spelling Links W3C Validation Accessibility

Single Sign On (SSO) Already have an SSO for your campus? Use it with OU Campus! Supported SSO’s include CAS Shibboleth LDAP Integrating OU Campus with an SSO service also requires additional authentication and back-end setup. Please contact our support team for more details and assistance.

Add-Ons Want to provide your OU Campus users with important bookmarks? Create a list of important links accessible by users or by administrators only within OU Campus.

New Site Settings Final Check Image Editing Options File Naming SITE LEVEL SETTINGS APPLY ONLY TO THE CURRENT SITE Final Check Image Editing Options File Naming Binary File Naming

Final Check Should that page check be more than just a suggestion? Final check determines which page check options automatically run when a page is about to be published. You can also configure your final check to disallow lower level users from publishing a page where checks have failed. Spelling Links W3C Validation Accessibility

Image Editing Options Love the images, but don’t love what your editors are doing to them on the page? These settings allow you to decide how editors inside OU Campus interact with images placed into editable regions. Decorative Images Image Resizing Image Alignment

File Naming Tired of webpages named using special characters? File naming establishes which characters are acceptable when a new webpage, section, or folder is created within OU Campus

Binary File Naming Want people to stop uploading PDF or image files with crazy long names? Binary file naming establishes which characters are acceptable when a file is uploaded to OU Campus

Create Users You can’t do it all yourself! So it’s time to get all your editors, approvers, and administrators added into OU Campus. Some important items to consider here are… Individual user levels Custom, per-user permissions

Setup Workflow Processes WHO CAN PUBLISH WHAT IN YOUR SITE? Do you want all of your editors to click a button and push changes to your live site? Would you rather have someone in place to approve changes? Workflow processes allow you to enforce approval processes.

Create Groups Once you have your users in place, you’ll want to organize them into groups. Groups are used across OU Campus for many different things. Assigning access to content Identifying bypass approval groups Sending notifications

Assign Access WHO CAN GO WHERE IN YOUR SITE? Which editors should be able to open a piece of content make edits? Or place reusable content on a page? Access can be set on any type of content. Pages Sections/Folders Files Assets Snippets Components Gadgets Tags

Custom Toolbars Don’t want any of your editors to change the font color? Don’t want one particular editor to add videos? Not a problem! Set up a custom toolbar.

Create Template Groups Don’t want a random news article page created in the middle of your admissions section? Take control over what types of templates can be created in different sections of your site.

Set p RSS Feeds Many OU Campus implementations utilize RSS feeds to populate news or event listing pages. These are some important configurations to consider. Should all of your articles appear on the listing page or are you going to have filtered listings? How are you going to archive older articles?

Account Level Custom Dictionary Tired of your school’s name getting flagged as misspelled? Have a long list of acronyms, building names, etc., that are unique to your institution? Pre-load them into your account level dictionary and never fight with incorrectly flagged words again!

Customize your styles.txt and wysiwyg.css Want to customize the options in your Styles or Classes drop down menus? Want your footer’s editable region to have the same background color as the footer itself? You can customize your styles.txt and wysiwyg.css files to achieve these and much more!
