Community First Aim To offer a package of support to communities to enable them to build more self-reliance, and grow their confidence and capability to make the changes they want to see in their area. ‘Asset-based community development, ... builds on the resources that are found in every community.’ Jim Diers

We put Community First Making it work Across England For 600 wards £50m Endowment Match Challenge For 600 wards £30m Neighbourhood Match Fund

Neighbourhood Matched Fund Community First Neighbourhood Matched Fund 2011-2015 600 eligible wards At least one ward per top tier local authority area Funding proportional to clusters of disadvantage within a ward Allocations from £16K-£200K over the 4 years

Community First Panels Each eligible ward will have a panel Panels self selecting from: residents, VCS, local businesses, councillors, local authorities Panels to consult with local people and draw on existing work/plans to find out the priorities Local decision making Required to use website to keep people informed and updated on activity

Community First Panel Partners Panels will nominate a Panel Partner Verify panel membership Hold and distribute expenses

Community First Community First Plans Panels identify initial priorities at start of programme Community First Plan to be developed by 1st April 2013 Plan should be asset based Support for developing Plan drawn from a range of sources

Community First Neighbourhood Matched Fund Grants Panel identify projects/seek proposals from local community All projects to be funded should work towards aims of the Community First Plan Projects funded 1:1 match in time/goods/cash Paid directly to recipient organisation by CDF

We put Community First Progress Over 250 panels submitted, 100+ panels onto next steps, area priorities being identified Links to Community Organisers, Business Connectors, Community Foundations, Asda stores, youth organisations, local authorities etc.

Community First Endowment Match Challenge 2011-2015 All England Overall target -raise £100M to get £50M match Annualised targets per top tier local area Contract -Community Foundation Network Locally delivered through Community Foundations
