Importance of Diversity Missouri State University is committed to developing educated persons who are equipped to contribute to the interdependent world in which we now live. www.missouristate.edu/diversitycommission

Statement of Values Diversity enriches the educational experience. Diversity prompts personal growth – and a healthy society. Diversity strengthens communities and the workplace. Diversity enhances America’s economic competitiveness.

President’s Commission for Diversity Responsibility is to: Develop a long-term diversity plan that will improve the University’s overall climate Enable the University to establish a diverse learning community.

Recommendations of the Commission Develop university-wide goals for improving the presence of diversity among individuals and ideas. Implement specific strategies that will advance progress on these goals. Design both criteria for success and assessment methods for tracking accomplishments.

A Few Ground Rules For Dialogue Promote a civil and respectful dialogue. Speak from your own experience, avoiding blaming. One speaker at a time. Respect confidentiality of speakers at this meeting. Respect time boundaries so others may speak.
