Classification of operations for Drone Usages Dull Repetitive tasks that require little to no input to complete Can be conducted over long periods of time Ex cargo transport, mapping, and crop survey Dirty Operations that pose a higher risk to traditional aircraft Ex measuring volcanic ash, aerial testing of obstacles, N B C testing, Fire detection

Classification of operations for Drone Usages Dangerous Operations that pose a high risk to traditional aircraft The loss of an UAS is better then the loss of human life Ex fire suppression, radiation testing, power line inspection, and military operations Economical Not just compared to traditional aircraft Any alternative/conventional method of preforming a task Ex using LiDAR drones to map an area instead of an engineer crew

Classification of operations for Drone Usages 107.1 Applicability Except as provided in paragraph (b) of this section, this part applies to the registration, airman certification, and operation of civil small unmanned aircraft systems within the United States. This part does not apply to the following: (1) Air carrier operations; (2) Any aircraft subject to the provisions of Part 101 of the chapter; or (3) Any operation that a remote pilot in command elects to conduct pursuant to an exemption issued under section 333 of Public Law 112-95, unless otherwise specified in the exemption
