Microscope sketching techniques All drawings must be done in pencil only Use distinct single lines when drawing. No sketching. Use stippling (dots) to illustrate darker areas. No shading. Label important features of the specimen. Be sure to include scientific name of the specimen, in correct notation, if appropriate.
