Implementation of the Almaty Programme of Action 1. Plans of Action have been adopted and Working Groups consisting of the Ministries’ and Agencies’ Representatives have been established. 2. The Kyrgyz Republic joined 7 international Road Transport Conventions and the Agreement on the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs and on the Special Equipment to be Used for Such Carriage (ATP). 3. The construction of fiber-optic cables of 26 783,5 Мbit/sec capacity and of 2,444 km is currently on-going. These lines will provide reliable connection among the centers of regions, Bishkek and the neighboring countries. 4. Rehabilitation of the following road corridors has been completed: Bishkek-Osh, Osh-Sarytash-Irkeshtam, Sarytash-Karamyk, Kordai (Georgievka) - Bishkek-Tashkent. The following road corridors are now under rehabilitation: Bishkek-Naryn-Torugart, Osh-Batken-Isfana. These corridors allow the Kyrgyz Republic to be connected with Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, China, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Turkey.
