CCRW VISION + MISSION September 9th, 2018
THE LAST TWO YEARS The need to bring stability The need to get to know people The need for people to get to know us The need to build trust The need to go slowly and not rush into a bunch of activity.
What Led Us Here? We were going into summer thinking about doing a lot of things They were cosmetic Parking lot Building stuff
Gut check-Are we sure we want to take on $70,000 of debt to get it all done? Led us to seek outside advice and help Contacted Poimen Ministries Brought Brian Newberry out Spent time answering questions about calling, vision, mission He spent time meeting with people from church Looked at building Looked at city Asked people to articulate the Vision and Mission of CCRW I knew people would not be able to because we had never articulated it! Let’s make sure we are doing the right things inside first and then get working on the other stuff!
BRIAN REALLY CHALLENGED ME TO NAIL DOWN VISION AND MISSION Personally, what do I believe God has called me to do with my life HELP PEOPLE FULLY FOLLOW JESUS If that’s what he’s called me to do, then that’s naturally going to play into the Vision of the church as Calvary Chapels are pastor-led churches. Yes we have Elders and they are vitally important but we are still pastor led churches. I shared things with the elders and we worked through coming up with a Vision statement that Everyone should be able to articulate. It’s one sentence. We also have a Mission statement that is easy to remember and articulate. Within a few Months, everyone that calls Calvary Chapel Red Wing home, should be able to articulate both the vision and mission of CCRW.
WHAT IS THE VISION FOR CCRW? Here is the Vision for CCRW: Helping people become mature, faithful followers of Jesus Christ! That is what we are going to be all about Vision is what we are all about Mission is how we are going to do it!

MARKS OF AN ACTS 2 CHURCH First, the agenda was spiritual. Second, the aim was social. Third, the atmosphere was supernatural. Fourth, the attitude was one of solidarity. Fifth, the approach was simple. And sixth, the action was steady.
This Vision and Mission is going to affect everything we do going forward. It will affect what our calendar looks like. It will affect the decisions that we make. It will affect even what a person begins to see physically around the church.
