Has anyone seen any of these pictures? These pictures are the old way to look at different food  groups. Now our government has made it more clear and easier to understand. You can see the it is now shown as a plate. http://www.choosemyplate.gov/about describes the food groups as building blocks for a nutritious plate. Have you ever looked to see if this was what any of your plates looked like? You are to have more vegetables than fruit, more grains than protein, and a little bit of dairy. How many of you eat breakfast everyday?? Why is breakfast important?? If you break down the word it is BREAK-FAST. Your body has gone 8-12 hours without food while you were sleeping!! If you eat even a small breakfast it will refuel you taking away tiredness and crankiness. You are refueling your body (Gavin, 2015). It is similar to filling up a cars gas tank when it is empty.
