to P7 Room 12! Eek! Our last ever term at Udston! And a busy one too… Homework should continue to be completed by Friday. Please remember to log on to Easimaths at least twice a week, make sure spelling is practised regularly and that your child is reading a variety of texts. Our library day continues to be on Thursday. Please remember to bring your library book to school every day, to enjoy our ‘reading for enjoyment’ times. Mrs Simpson takes us for P.E. and French on a Monday. Please ensure that your child has appropriate P.E. kit, including trainers (please see school P.E. Position Statement for further guidance). We also have Outdoor P.E. on a Friday morning. Our focus this term is Athletics. In Literacy and English, we are continuing to develop our spelling strategies using a range of daily tasks. Our class novel study this term is ‘Wonder’ by R.J Palacia. We will also be learning about blogs and how to set up one of our own. In writing, we will be developing our skills in writing discursive texts. In Numeracy and Mathematics our focus will be learning about time including further developing our skills in reading timetables and recognising the link between speed, distance and time. We will also be consolidating our skills in Money. We will continue to use a wide range of activities, technology and games in order to develop our knowledge and support our learning. This term we will be developing our creative skills in Art and Drama. We will be looking at France as our focus this term. We will be comparing French and Scottish landscapes, learning about French culture and studying French artists. Watch this space!
