Chose BIG and POWERFUL words Then, pick little words like, “is,” “of,” and “the” to help create flow Use designs to connect your words Don’t focus on rhyme… not all poems rhyme! Instead focus on the strength of the words and their connotative meanings when combined, compared, and included in our poems
