Graz Declaration Strategy for sustainable mobility management and planning Developing a European strategy mobility management which provides guidance and support aiming at offering sustainable mobility choices and options in the EU, in the Member States and at regional, local and company level. Enhancing European support to Member States for the development of national mobility management strategies and programmes. Promoting European cooperation with platforms and partnerships such as the European Platform on Mobility Management (EPOMM).

Managing Mobility for a better future EPOMM is the European Platform on Mobility Management, a network of governments in European countries that are engaged in Mobility Management (MM). They are represented by the Ministries that are responsible for MM in their countries. EPOMM is organised as an international non-profit-organisation with seat in Brussels.

EPOMM Mobility Management Strategy Book Eleven EPOMM member states provided input on their respective national mobility management strategies: National climate and sustainability strategies and targets are drivers for mobility management strategies. National strategies aim to reduce private vehicle use and save energy by supporting the use of sustainable means of transportation. Strategies range from encouraging behavioural change, using planning tools, provide financial incentives and implementing laws to support sustainable transportation and mobility management.

EPOMM Mobility Management Strategy Book - Austria Mobility management strategies in Austria include the government‘s programme Klima aktiv mobil: National framework to motivate and support specific target groups to develop and implement measures to reduce CO2 emissions from transport related activities. Partnership between national state, municipalities and regions with priorities of clean mobility, mobility transition and e-mobility. Results in 2018 include: Since 2006 there were 15.000 klima aktiv mobil projects Annual CO2 savings are estimated at 450,000 tonnes from companies, municipalities, tourism and schools 34,500 alternative vehicles funded, including 31,600 E-cars, E-bikes. E-busses, etc. 122 Mio. Euro public support for climate friendly CO2 reducing mobility projects of cities, regions and companies – total investments of 816 Mio. Euro induced and 7,000 green jobs stimulated

EPOMM Mobility Management Strategy Book –Netherlands Mobility management strategies in the Netherlands includes the Optimising Use Programme (2011 – 2018): Partnership between the state, twelve regions and business. Identification of accessibility issues and realisation of measures through close cooperation with regional governments and business sector Results include: A 19% reduction of congestion on the Optimising Use routes during the morning and evening rush hours Some 48,000 rush hour avoidances per average working day A CO2 reduction of more than 70,000 tonnes annually

Conclusion Mobility management is an effective tool to reduce GHG emission and energy use in the transportation sector Mobility management strategy goals can be achieved in many ways on various levels and should motivate and support transport related actors like companies, cities, regions, schools etc Supportive frameworks on national and also EU level are crucial for broadly mainstreaming the use of mobility management It is a holistic approach in changing travel behaviour and facilitating actors Implementation of measures is cost-effective and support use of infrastructure and mobility services Partnerships and co-operations between the national, state, regional or city level and business are essential
