TP: WWBAT construct a thesis statement for our argumentative essay Launch Use prior knowledge, details from The Lightning Thief, and your analysis of the media clips to determine YOUR OWN definition of a “hero”. Discuss your thoughts with your tablemates

Today, we begin thinking and writing about our own interpretation of the hero’s journey. First, it is imperative to analyze the true meaning of a “hero” and who best fits those characteristics. Next, it is time to develop a claim (thesis statement with minimum 2 reasons). Then, complete the INTRODUCTION with the necessary components (Background & Hook) for an effective argumentative essay.
