Biography Garrett Morgan was born on march 4, 1877. He later grew to be a repairman for sewing machines. He developed a traffic signal for traffic. Once on one day volunteers were trapped in a cave with smoke, poison gas, dust, and he saved them. Later he was on news papers. He died at age 86 ion August 27, 1963.

Invention Garrett Morgan is most known for the gas mask and traffic signal. The traffic signal was made for traffic because he was in an accident with a car and had the idea. He made the gas mask because he wanted to help firefighters. Once there were volunteers trapped in a cave and saved them. Firefighters use them and they work very well for smoke and gas. The traffic signal was good for traffic and made accidents happen rarely. He then didn’t get in any crashes again. The mask was soon called the hood and was used even more.
