Special Announcement www.lockettpledge.com Shadle Park High School was selected to participate in the Pledge Your Future Project. Seattle Sea Hawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett has a campaign to get as many students to log onto his website and complete a brief (3 minutes) pledge on why they want to finish high school.  The school with the highest percentage of pledges based on their enrollment receives $5,000 and a visit from Tyler Lockett. The top 5 runner up schools receive $1,000. (Only one pledge per student is permitted). The competition begins November 6, 2017 and ends on December 15, 2017. The winning schools will be announced in January. Why Set Goals? The process of setting goals allows you to choose where you want to go in school and what you want to achieve By knowing what you want to achieve, you know what you have to concentrate on and improve Goal setting gives students long-term vision and short-term motivation. Helps build a sense of pride and accomplishment

A Clear Path To Progress Clear, measurable goals will allow you to take pride in accomplishing those goals. It allows you to see where you are and plan for where you want and/or need to go

What Goals Can Help You Do Improve academic performance Increase their motivation to achieve Increase pride and satisfaction in performance Improve their self-confidence

How to Set Goals: The Basics, cont. Writing goals down to make them more meaningful Reviewing your goals makes you accountable Keeping goals small helps them become achievable and you are not overwhelmed. Taking small steps helps the consistency of progress. Set goals that are within your control, so you are not setting yourself up for failure.
