Which came first? CPR or The Red Cross

Clara Barton (The Founder) (OG Red Cross) She founded the Red Cross in 1881 when she was already 60 and lead with strong leadership for the next 20 years. (Courtesy of The Red Cross 2017)

Andreas Vesalius (The Founder) (CPR OG) He is often credited with being the father of resuscitation. He is documented with trying and being successful with breaths on small animals as early as the mid 1500’s. (CPR Headquarters 2015)

CPR History 1740: The Paris Academy of Science official recommends mouth to mouth 1891: Friedrich Maass performed the first documented chest compression in humans. 1903: George Crile reported the first successful use of external chest compressions on humans (American Heart Association 2017)
