Good Morning, Miss McDonnell. For now, let’s take out our English workbooks and look at page 78. The two top spellers will have the chance to be in the school Spelling Bee on Friday afternoon. This afternoon, we are going to have a Spelling Bee. Good Morning, Class.

Later That Afternoon….

Brad, your first word is capital. Samantha, your first word is decide. Alright class, let’s put away our Social Studies Books. It is time for the Spelling Bee. Everyone, please line up at the chalkboard, and we will begin . Capital. C-A-P-A-T-O-L. Capital. Cotton. C-O-T-T-O-N. Decide. D-E-C-I-D-E. Decide. Separate. S-E-P-E-R-A-T-E. I am sorry, Brad. That is incorrect. I am sorry, Amie. That is incorrect. Samantha, your first word is decide. Very Good Samantha. That is correct. On the Bus Ride Home...

I can’t wait to go home and tell my family that I won!

We are all so proud of you sweetheart! We knew you could do it! Mom! Dad! Phil! Ben! I won the Spelling Bee!

I can’t believe I won. I am the Spelling Champion I can’t believe I won! I am the Spelling Champion! I overcame my nervousness and won the Spelling Bee! While I know it is slightly petty of me, when I walked over and congratulated Samantha, I LOVED the feeling of beating her as well.
