The Place4Grace Family2Child Literacy Program How Books Bond and Increase Literacy… The Family2Child Literacy Project records incarcerated fathers, mothers, aunts/uncles and siblings reading books to children left behind due to incarceration. The reader writes a personalized inscription inside the book. The audio recordings and books are mailed to the children, allowing them to hear the recorded voice of their loved one and to read along. Being able to hear their loved one’s recorded voice at anytime, either alone or in the presence of family, who read along with the child, is pivotal in building a strong, meaningful and vital bond between the incarcerated loved one and the child. www.theplace4grace.org
