Alpha to Beta Cell Reprogramming: Stepping toward a New Treatment for Diabetes  Anna B. Osipovich, Mark A. Magnuson  Cell Stem Cell  Volume 22, Issue 1, Pages 12-13 (January 2018) DOI: 10.1016/j.stem.2017.12.012 Copyright © 2017 Elsevier Inc. Terms and Conditions

Figure 1 Reversal of Diabetes by the Endogenous Reprogramming of Alpha Cells into Beta Cells Infusion of AAV expressing Pdx1 and Mafa directly into the pancreatic duct of diabetic mice reprograms alpha cells into beta cells, restoring normal insulin secretion for up to 4 months. Similar results were obtained using toxin-treated human islets. Cell Stem Cell 2018 22, 12-13DOI: (10.1016/j.stem.2017.12.012) Copyright © 2017 Elsevier Inc. Terms and Conditions
