CHANGE Change is not easy Change can be messy But attitude and communication can help Change can be messy But it can also be an adventure Change upsets the status quo Not everything NEEDS changing Change means that everyone does not get their way Although voice and opinions ARE valued Change is a constant in life

Fiscal responsibility DUE DILIGENCE Process started in 2015 Fiscal responsibility Impact to taxpayers Cost to build v renovate Controlling debt service Building capacity issues (elementary) Grade configuration Program of study Potential need to re-district

COMMUNICATION CV Futures Committee Ed Spec Committee Bi-weekly construction meetings Teacher involvement Meet with architects to discuss room configuration, equipment, etc. Met with representative for movable walls Will visit site with product installed Timeline isn’t fast enough for some Furniture, Schedule, Staffing

LEARNING Schedules are being developed Smaller class sizes, lower number of changes for students, more time for teachers with students Professional development continues to happen and to be planned Collaboration is essential to bringing Sixth Grade from four different buildings together Continued efforts to focus on what our students need for their future Real world experiences Personalized learning Profile of a CV Learner

Spaces ARE different than current middle school INSTRUCTIONAL SPACE Spaces ARE different than current middle school Flexibility Created for now, AND the future Educator input is critical to learning space design Continue to meet regularly with architects

PERFORMANCE SPACE Took a campus-wide view of performance spaces Two auditoriums remain on the campus (CVHS and the new Smoketown Elementary) Similar to Junior High Athletics that compete on campus fields/gymnasiums Coordinated scheduling of events Conducting events differently than in the past – scope, location, time Cafeteria and Gymnasium will be outfitted with sound systems/video systems; Learning Pods can be expanded Problem Solvers!
