Presentation transcript:

SOLDIER RESEARCH HOMEWORK You have already visited your local memorial or talked to your family about any relatives who died during WW1. You will have already chosen 1 soldier to focus on in more detail by finding out: What the soldier’s regiment was involved in throughout WW1? (examples of battles, dates, places it was sent etc.) the name of the battle the regiment was involved in around the date your soldier died? (Don’t worry if you’re not certain, pick the nearest one you can find.) What happened in the battle you think your soldier died in battle?

These will need to be emailed to me, or bought in a memory stick. Your next task is to produce a short visual presentation on your chosen soldier. As well as the main facts you need to include relevant pictures, maps etc of the information you have discovered e.g. if you soldier died in the Battle of the Somme find some photos of the actual battle and locate on a map where his regiment fought. You could also include a photograph of the cemetery where the soldier is buried. These will need to be emailed to me, or bought in a memory stick. If possible I want to put them on the school website and put an article in the roundup so that the local community can look at your soldiers. Who knows maybe you have done a presentation on someone’s relative and they may contact the school with more detail……
