How we started… Sep 2006: HB Walkers Action set up Two aims: to encourage recreational walking, both for local people and visitors to campaign for better facilities for walkers, including the adequate maintenance of existing footpaths/bridleways and the creation of new footpaths

How we started… Sep-Oct 2006: local petition. 250+ signatures Oct 2006: Town Council support. Oct 2006 onwards: Rural parishes support Nov 2006: first national press coverage Nov 2006: work starts on waymarking Nov 2006: support from businesses

How we started… Feb 16th 2007: waymarking complete, board at station Feb 18th 2007: Walkers’ Day launch Apr 2007: WaW Advisory Board meets
