MMS engaged in professional learning this year around co-teaching and continue to improve in their ability to utilize the various stances of co-teaching as they become more comfortable working with their colleagues.   MMS Early Release Book Study on Co-Teaching   MMS next steps: various team use all 4 of the different co-teaching stances and share findings.  Teachers who don’t have a co-teaching classroom will try some different things with their paraprofessionals they work with, as described in the readings.   A follow-up and introduction to co-teaching training will occur in June 2017 District Priority 1

District Priority 1 Instructional Coaches: One-on-one coaching - forging strong, collaborative relationships with teachers in our buildings Professional learning - forming professional communities via small-group instruction in such areas as visual thinking, educational technology, and peer book study groups

District Priority 1 Teachers have found ways to establish common planning times at least once a week.   In some cases that means that they use the co-teaching 4 days a week and use the last day for planning.   Kindra Johnson co-teaches 6 different classes (3 ELA and 3 Math) with 5 different teachers for all grade levels

District Priority 1 IDA days continue to be offered for shared scoring Re-establish in 2017-18 through PL days that were needed for adjustment to schedule in 16-17

District Priority 1 Communication and collaboration has begun with: Scott came to CCHS to learn about the school Mike met with BVHS staff to discuss CCHS Discussion on sharing resources and offering BVHS classes to CCHS students began Drafts of contracts and eligibility criteria begun CCHS invited to BVHS dance CCHS math teacher sharing duties at BVHS Students from MMS coming to CCHS for Freshman year when appropriate Projected : Begin conversations about the fundamental roles and cultural beliefs of CCHS and BVHS
