It Takes Two Flints to Make a Fire --Louisa May Alcott

Definition of Community Partners A Partner is a Member-based, Community Organization or NGO that is Equal with your District or Club and has a similar Mission of Empowering Women and Girls. It is Not an Organization you Serve. Cooperating with another like-minded Organization means that Zonta and the Partner agree to work together on a specific Project or Program, normally for a specific Period of Time and that Zonta and the other Organization each have specific Responsibilites. Example is how Zonta International cooperates with UN Women on their Say NO – UNiTE Campaign with Districts and Clubs doing Awareness Projects, in their Local Communities too.

Benefits to Partnering More Members to Pitch-in on Project Sharing of Ideas Building Community Goodwill Creating Community Awareness and Public Relations Attracting Media Attention Fellowship – New Members for Zonta Club/District Developing Community Synergy and Exponential Increase What other Benefits?

Zonta Partnering Policies & Guidelines Two Documents are Detailed on Zonta.org Log-in and Go to Governance Section Please review Affiliation with Other Organizations Policy and Affiliation with Other Organizations Guidelines. The Affiliation with Other Organizations Policy Encourages Zontians to work with others when Effective

Zonta Partnering Policies & Guidelines In any Affiliation with another Organization, it should be noted that: Zonta International is Nonpartisan and Nonsectarian and this Character must be Preserved. Zonta International’s Name and Credibility must Not be Adversely Affected

Zonta Partnering Policies & Guidelines Districts and Clubs shall act Responsibly when selecting Partners and when deciding about their Type of Affiliation. All Partners must Promote Women’s Human Rights. Affiliation shall not affect Zonta Internationals’ Nonpartisan and Nonsectarian Character. Affiliation should be for Real Impact, not just to have the Zonta Name on lists. Evaluation must be possible. Affiliation is normally recommended for Specific Activities. Long term involvements should be Evaluated preferable every Two Years but no longer than Four Years.
