Passive Challenge! Chapter 11

Part 1: Error Correction In each sentence, there is at least one mistake with passive voice or participial adjectives. Find the mistake(s) and write the correct form.

Part 1: Error Correction I am interesting in the author’s ideas. Two people got hurted in the accident and were took to the hospital. The students helped by the clear explanation that the teacher gave. The winner of the contest hasn’t been announcing yet. Many strange things were happened last night.

Part 1: Error Correction I was sad to have been missed the graduation ceremony. History has been recorded by people for thousands of years. We watched an amused movie last night. The assignment should have done last week. 10. I didn’t go to dinner with them because I had already been eaten.

Part 2: Rewriting You will see sentences in ACTIVE voice. If possible, rewrite them in PASSIVE voice, making sure to keep the same tense. Only add a “by-phrase” if necessary.

Part 2: Rewriting People must not bring food into computer labs. Someone has made a fatal mistake. My sister’s plane will arrive at 10:35. The judges will judge the applicants on their creativity. I agree with Dr. Ikeda’s theory.

Part 2: Rewriting Someone made my sweater in England. Doctors had used that surgery method before the 1970’s. The victim died instantly. I dislike people asking me personal questions. It was wonderful they chose me.
