Cell The intersection of a column and a row You enter data into individual cells
Cell Pointer A rectangle enclosing one cell of a spreadsheet, identifying that cell as active
Cell Address Spreadsheets use row and column identifiers as the basis for cell addresses
Label Name for data value
Value An entered number or a result of a computation
Date Indicates when a worksheet was created. Also used in performing calculations.
Formula Calculates numbers based on values or formulas in other cells
Cell reference Tells a formula to look up the contents of a referenced cell
Range Contiguous cells referenced in a formula
Functions Perform specialized calculations automatically
Argument The value or cell reference that the function uses in its operation
