System software a system software is a software made to provide a “platform” to other software. some examples of system software include: operating systems such as Ubuntu, macOS, and Microsoft Windows. others include: games engines, sercive applications etc.

Application software an application can be any program, or group of programs, that is made for the person who is using the app. there are 4 main types of system software: Operating system Device drives Middleware Utility software

Other types of application software one type of application is called a Peer to peer application. these applications are also known as: Kazza, Skype, eMule etc. another type of application is called and IOS framework. some IOS framework applications you can find are: Cocoa Touch, WebKit, CloudKit etc.

middleware middle basically means that it allows information to cross between things like on a network. the English dictionary says that middleware means “software that acts as a bridge between an operating system or database and applications, especially on a network”.

Operating system an operating system is basically the computers assistant when doing specific tasks. The English dictionary sais that the definition of operating system means “the software that supports a computer’s basic functions, such as scheduling tasks, executing applications, and controlling peripherals”.

Utility software a Utility software is a system software made to help maintain, analyze, configure and a whole bunch of other stuff for the computer.

Device driver a device driver is a program that particularly controls a type of hardware device that is attached to a computer.

Other types of application software Some other examples of application software are: PowerPoint Outlook Excel Word Google chrome Firefox Safari Pandora (for music) Skype Slack (For team collaboration)

Why is system software important? it consists of operating systems, system and network management, and information management. the operating system controls the basic functions of a network or computer. it is essentially a software program that enables hardware to communicate and operate with the computer software.

What is system software? System software refers to the files and programs that make up your computer’s operating system. These system files include: system services, libraries of functions, drivers for printers and other hardware, and other configuration files. Some of the programs that are part of the system software include: assemblers, compilers, file management tools, system utilities, and debuggers.
