Comparison of protocols for tibial nerve electrical stimulation for the treatment of overactive bladder: clinical trial randomized blind Pierre ML, Toscano GL, Baracat EC, Haddad JM, Ferreira, EAG School of Medicine, University of São Paulo, SP, Brazil  munickpierre@usp.br INTRODUCTION: The electrical stimulation of the tibial nerve is a conservative, effective and low cost therapy, which promotes good results in improving symptoms of Overactive Bladder (OAB). OBJECTIVE: To compare the efficacy of electrical stimulation of the tibial nerve protocols for physical therapy for non-neurogenic OAB. METHODOLOGY: blinded randomized clinical trial which involved 131 women with OAB, randomized into five different groups. RESULTS: Urinary Frequency Nocturia Urgency Incontinence 2x/week-1 leg BETTER than 1x / week-two legs. 1x/week-1 leg BETTER than placebo AND 2x/week-1 leg. 1x/week-1 leg BETTER than placebo. 1x/week-1 leg BETTER than placebo AND 1x/week-2 legs AND 2x/week-2 legs. Placebo BETTER than 1x/week-2 legs. 2x/week-2 legs BETTER than placebo AND 2x/week-1 leg. 2x/week-1 leg BETTER than 1x/week-2 legs.
