Letter time!

The prompts to which you were asked to respond are the following: At the start of senior year, you reflected on goal setting and wrote an essay. (Please locate that essay in your Writing Portfolio.) The prompts to which you were asked to respond are the following: Short term goal : Where do you want to be this time next year? (Now, just a few months away) Middle range goal : Where do you see yourself in five years? Long term goal : Where do you see yourself in the long run? This could be where you see yourself when you’re fifty, when you retire, when you’re eighty or more. Pick a point at which you’d like to be able to look back and say “I accomplished this” …and you will feel fulfilled because of that accomplishment.

Now, write a letter to your future self, expressing your hopes, fears, and wishes for your own future, perhaps in relation to what you’ve wished for yourself at this point in time…perhaps not.

You will receive this letter in four years.

Typed or hand-written? Your call. Send yourself a few dollars? Sure. Draw yourself a picture? Absolutely. Tuck in a few mementos from HS? Yes. Add a note from a classmate? Why not? This letter is just for future you. 

in your mailbox brings a smile I hope That the sight of this envelope in your mailbox brings a smile to your face in 2023. 

Bring supplies and anything else you’d like to send in your letter to the Writing Lab on Tuesday, May 28. *Don’t forget an address for future mailing!
