We don’t just fund in Scotland – we learn and share learning. Through using Thrive you will: Have a better understanding of how people can become active Be better able to support people to become active. Thrive toolkit

‘The process of developing the Toolkit has helped to reinforce the credibility of the ‘approach’  to getting more people active, and Spirit of 2012 is seen as a leader in the development of the approach.’

Thrive can help you… Take a person centred approach which often provides better insight into motivations to undertake physical activity and help reduce barriers. Plan fun and social activities which recognise that getting active is not a sprint but a series of small steps. Find inactive people who are often hard to reach and more likely to be socially isolated. Learn and improve recognising small changes can make the biggest difference. Design successful activities by providing tips, resources and questions to consider in your planning

Thrive learning programme Designed to provide practitioners with greater support around the processes of planning, doing and reviewing that they can apply to their everyday work A blended learning approach that will make best use of face-to-face and online learning and reflection Pilot work being undertaken April to June 2019 with an initial cohort of 10-12 practitioners Builds on the learning from the Legacy 2014 Fund. Final Learning Programme to be rolled out as part of the Changing Lives through Sport and Physical activity later in 2019.

Changing Lives through Sport & Physical Activity We believe everyone benefits from sport and physical activity. We want: to make sport and physical activity more accessible for people who don’t take part people to progress to the level they choose to create wider benefits in areas such as health, education, communities and economy At the heart of Thrive is collaboration. It is supported by a broad range of partners across Scotland and the UK, who have collaborated in its development and who all share a common goal of changing lives through sport & PA and getting more people active. Thrive and Thrive learning programme is also a key part of the Changing Lives through Sport and Physical Activity programme. The Fund.
