Figure 1 Selective right pulmonary arteriogram shows spongy appearance of arteriovenous malformations with single 3-mm to 5-mm arteries arborizing into fine complex networks of small tortuous branches and early filling of draining veins. Rapid arteriovenous shunting of blood flow was observed in all malformations, but no large-vessel, direct arteriovenous communications were evident.
