Introduction National, bilingual online community Community for everyone who serves immigrants and refugees Community built for the sector and by the sector Community where everyone can connect, learn, share, and collaborate All community members are equals and can shape their own engagement Opportunity to create knowledge and share best practices, programs, research and resources that have a direct impact upon helping newcomers to successfully settle in their new homeland Community will grow and evolve for all members and by all members

Vision Connects settlement practitioners who may never come into contact otherwise Provides a shared context for practitioners to communicate and share information Enables dialogue between people who have an interest in solving the same or similar problems. Stimulates learning Captures and diffuses existing knowledge Introduces collaborative processes and encourages the free flow of ideas and information. Helps people organize around issues Generates new knowledge

Community Highlights A community in which: Settlement practitioners, leaders and professionals can connect, share, collaborate, and learn, thereby building their knowledge and skills capacity with a focus on improving services Provision of consistent, innovative, and coordinated services can be facilitated Members collect, disseminate, and find the tools they need to do their job effectively

Community Highlights A community that will live and grow for and by all who are serving immigrants and refugees to: Access best-practice information and share resources on a wide variety of settlement topics Locate the latest and most useful guides, tools, and research related to serving newcomers Find up-to-date sector news and events Connect settlement practitioners who might not otherwise have the opportunity to interact Enable dialogue among peers to explore new possibilities in order to deepen their knowledge and expertise and to learn how to do things better
