Skills September Themes Fine Motor Skills Mark Your Calendars Webster Preschool Mrs. Shudak cshudak@ysd.k12.sd.us Mrs. Stark cstark@ysd.k12.sd.us Ms. Wentworth lwentworth@ysd.k12.sd.us Fine Motor Skills Hand skills are crucial to being successful in preschool. Small movements of the hand are referred to as fine motor skills. Here are some suggestions of activities to help your child build his/her fine motor skills: finger plays, cutting, stringing beads or buttons, Legos, Play-Doh, squeezing wet sponges, sidewalk chalk, tracing letters in the snow or sand, using short crayons, and finger painting.
