Lets Start Off Today is a GREAT day for physics. But then again…
Motion Graphs Position-Time (also called Distance-Time or Displacement-Time) d t At rest.
Position-Time Graphs Position can be represented on a POSITION-TIME GRAPH, which looks similar to a distance-time graph. However, there are two main differences.

Day 5 At A Glance We have two goals for today: 1) Continue with Graph Boot Camp 2) Take our 1st Quiz!

What Is Due And When Our 1st Lab: This HW you got ‘Due’ next time, remember that I will collect it the time after (2 sessions from now) This HW you got Due next time

Day 5 At A Glance So today will have the following: 1) Do some scenarios with graphs, some calculations. Feel more comfortable with graphs. 2) Quiz for 45 minutes.

Lets Start With Remembering Look back on the Graph Boot Camp document and the ball tossed in air graph to remember about how d, v and a relate in graphs.

What is Happening Here 1) Describe what is occurring in this graph. 2) Did the combined cart get faster, slower, or stay the same after the collision?

You Try 1 Try these three parts for this problem

You Try 1 A) at t=0, Car A has a larger velocity (read off the axis) B) Car B has more area under the curve C) A has a larger slope (its negative but so what)

You Try 2 Answer the following please.

You Try 2 A) By slope… IV > I = III > II B) Distance is all values added up.. 20 + 0 + 20 + 20 is 60m. C) Displacment: Xf – Xi, 20 – 0 = 20m. D) B…logic

TO THE BOARD! Show the basic work on the board, circle answers and check if you need to.
