Mrs. Parkinson 9th Grade Literature and Composition Classroom Rules, Procedures, and Expectations

Mrs. Parkinson’s Specific Classroom Rules Be Prepared! (Come to class with all necessary materials and ready to work.) Be Polite! (Greet others in a friendly manner. Say please, thank you and smile often.) Be Presentable! (Dress neat, clean, and with class.) Be Positive! (Have an I CAN, WE CAN attitude.) Be Proactive! (Ask questions, seek information, use the class blog, read, study hard.) Be Poised! (Be in total control of yourself. Keep a low voice and a calm, cool and confident demeanor.)

Mrs. Parkinson’s Classroom Procedures & Expectations Enter the room quietly and be in your seat by the time the bell rings. Begin working quietly on your warm-up immediately. Read the agenda written on the board to prepare yourself for the days work and classroom goals. Write down your homework assignment in your agenda. Follow the directions of the teacher and become actively engaged in your education. Complete the Exit Ticket activity assigned and DO NOT leave the classroom until the teacher dismisses you. Turn in any work in the designated area.

Other Classroom Expectations Keep the room and your area neat and clean. No eating or drinking. (except water) Raise your hand to ask a question and/or leave your seat. Keep inside voices at all times. Use respectable language at all times. Respond to the teacher/adults using “Yes Ma’am”, “No Ma’am”, “Yes Sir”, “No Sir”. When the teacher is talking, you should be listening. (Please do not talk during this time.) No cell phones or ipods during class (unless required for assignment.)
