New Adventures Do NOT Be Afraid! Song SAC experience “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

Here We Go Again 26 Now there was a famine in the land— besides the previous famine in Abraham’s time—and Isaac went to Abimelek king of the Philistines in Gerar. @14 years after the death of Abraham Famine - the Biblical Hebrew word pronounced raw-awb means hunger Major cause of famine – drought Famine in 2018 in your life – the drought – the spiritual feeding of your relationship w/God through Jesus and the leading of the HS Same one or different?? “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

“for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

“for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

Clear Direction 2 The Lord appeared to Isaac and said, “Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land where I tell you to live. 3 Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham. 4 I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, 5 because Abraham obeyed me and did everything I required of him, keeping my commands, my decrees and my instructions.” 6 So Isaac stayed in Gerar. With You Matthew 28:20 "Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.“ Hebrews 13:5 "Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.’” Romans 8:38-39 "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.“ Bless You Philippians 4:19  19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. James 1:17  17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

The Promise 12 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. 2 “I will make you into a great nation,     and I will bless you; I will make your name great,     and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you,     and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth     will be blessed through you.” “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

Proper Response 15 …, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram.     I am your shield,     your very great reward.” 6 Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness. “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

Clarity! Genesis 17: 19 Then God said, “Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

Promises to US! Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Exodus 14:14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

Same Sin? 7 When the men of that place asked him about his wife, he said, “She is my sister,” because he was afraid to say, “She is my wife.” He thought, “The men of this place might kill me on account of Rebekah, because she is beautiful.” Fear - The fundamental and original idea expressed in scripture covers a semantic range from mild easiness to stark terror, depending on the object of the fear and the circumstances surrounding the experience. Doubt in Scripture can be seen to be characteristic of both believers and unbelievers. In believers it is usually a weakness of faith, a wavering in the face of God's promises. James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. Jude 20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.22 Be merciful to those who doubt; Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart     and lean not on your own understanding; How Old is Rebekah? Married roughly 40 years by this time so from 55 to 65 years old “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

Busted 8 When Isaac had been there a long time, Abimelek king of the Philistines looked down from a window and saw Isaac caressing his wife Rebekah. 9 So Abimelek summoned Isaac and said, “She is really your wife! Why did you say, ‘She is my sister’?” Isaac answered him, “Because I thought I might lose my life on account of her.” At least he was honest when busted No excuses No victim claims “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

Actions Have Consequences 10 Then Abimelek said, “What is this you have done to us? One of the men might well have slept with your wife, and you would have brought guilt upon us.” 11 So Abimelek gave orders to all the people: “Anyone who harms this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.” Guilt – history issue – did he do some reading? “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

Planting and Reaping 12 Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him. 13 The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy. 14 He had so many flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines envied him. 15 So all the wells that his father’s servants had dug in the time of his father Abraham, the Philistines stopped up, filling them with earth. 100 fold Like 100 bushel acre wheat Today 60 bushel is a good number – with all of our technology “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

Acting in Fear 16 Then Abimelek said to Isaac, “Move away from us; you have become too powerful for us.” Fear “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

Living In Peace 17 So Isaac moved away from there and encamped in the Valley of Gerar, where he settled. 18 Isaac reopened the wells that had been dug in the time of his father Abraham, which the Philistines had stopped up after Abraham died, and he gave them the same names his father had given them. “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

“for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

“for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

19 Isaac’s servants dug in the valley and discovered a well of fresh water there. 20 But the herders of Gerar quarreled with those of Isaac and said, “The water is ours!” So he named the well Esek, because they disputed with him. 21 Then they dug another well, but they quarreled over that one also; so he named it Sitnah. 22 He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarreled over it. He named it Rehoboth, saying, “Now the Lord has given us room and we will flourish in the land.” “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

On The Move 23 From there he went up to Beersheba. 24 That night the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am the God of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you and will increase the number of your descendants for the sake of my servant Abraham.” “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

“for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

Time to Worship 25 Isaac built an altar there and called on the name of the Lord. There he pitched his tent, and there his servants dug a well. “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

Dealing With Challenges 26 Meanwhile, Abimelek had come to him from Gerar, with Ahuzzath his personal adviser and Phicol the commander of his forces. 27 Isaac asked them, “Why have you come to me, since you were hostile to me and sent me away?” “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

What Do People See 28 They answered, “We saw clearly that the Lord was with you; so we said, ‘There ought to be a sworn agreement between us’—between us and you. Let us make a treaty with you 29 that you will do us no harm, just as we did not harm you but always treated you well and sent you away peacefully. And now you are blessed by the Lord.” “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

Treating People Right 30 Isaac then made a feast for them, and they ate and drank. 31 Early the next morning the men swore an oath to each other. Then Isaac sent them on their way, and they went away peacefully. “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

Blessings Flow 32 That day Isaac’s servants came and told him about the well they had dug. They said, “We’ve found water!” 33 He called it Shibah, and to this day the name of the town has been Beersheba. Shibah – well of the oath Second time – Genesis 21 – Abraham and Abimelek “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

Mean While 34 When Esau was forty years old, he married Judith daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and also Basemath daughter of Elon the Hittite. 35 They were a source of grief to Isaac and Rebekah. “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”

2019 Adventures John 16: 33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”
