Class discussion and analysis of Chapter 4 Significance of title: “Painted Faces and Long Hair” Introduce symbolism/allegory symbol? allegory? What is the purpose of symbols in literature? LOTF is itself a symbol; an allegorical tale works on many different levels, thus, reader interpretation of these symbols is of great importance.
