FIGURE 1 MCP-1 levels in the medium, secreted by mesothelial cells, EM42 cells, or stromal cells after incubation with native LDL or oxidized LDL. Cells were incubated with 25 μg/mL LDL, moLDL (minimally oxidized LDL), or oxLDL (Oxidized LDL) for 6 to 8 hours. The MCP-1 levels in the medium were measured by ELISA assay and expressed in terms of total cellular protein. The mean ± SE of five experiments is shown in the figure. Statistical comparisons were made with reference to control. ∗P<.05. Rong. Oxidative stress and MCP-1 in endometriosis. Fertil Steril 2002. FIGURE 2 MCP-1 levels in the medium, secreted by endometrial cells after incubation with peritoneal fluid (PF). For 2 to 3 hours 10% peritoneal fluid was cultured with or without EM42 cells or stromal cells. The MCP-1 levels in the medium were measured by ELISA assay and expressed in terms of total cellular protein. The mean ± SE of three experiments is shown in the figure. Statistical comparisons were made with reference to the corresponding groups, which were incubated with peritoneal fluid from normal women. ∗∗P<.01. Rong. Oxidative stress and MCP-1 in endometriosis.
