February 22/25, 2013 Please turn in your homework. Objective: Students will analyze data about water usage in order to draw conclusions about standard of living in the Middle East. Drill: What is bias? Homework: give your folder a check up

Quiz Do your best Answer each question Don’t be afraid to write on the quiz

Vocabulary Interdependence- depending on one another for resources, goods and services. When people, businesses, and nations specialize, they become interdependent Example: a farmer depends on a doctor for medical care, while the doctor depends on the farmer for food

Vocabulary Specialization-the act of producing a narrow range of goods and services that cannot meet all of the economic wants of a community Opportunity cost: the next best (second best) choice that is given up when a decision is made Example: My choice for breakfast was a bagel, eggo waffle, or egg sandwich. I chose eggo waffle. The opportunity cost is an egg sandwich because that would have been my second choice.

Water Usage Activity 1: Activity 2: Step A: Follow the directions to create a bar graph. Step B: Use your bar graph to answer the questions with a partner. Activity 2: Use the table to answer the questions with a partner.

Assessment Read the writing prompt. Be sure to start your short essay with a thesis statement that has 3 parts Use details from the data we analyzed today to answer the question
