Role Centers & Customizations A Role Center is a home page for all users of a profile, which has been configured to reflect the tasks and priorities of users of the profile.  A Role Center provides easy access to information users need to perform their daily work.  Role Centers & Customizations

Managing Personalization as an Administrator Disabling Personalization for a Profile You can prevent all users that belong to a specific profile from being able to personalize their pages. Choose search, enter Profiles, and then choose the related link. Select the profile in the list that you want to modify. Select the Disable personalization check box, and then choose the OK button.

Managing Personalization as an Administrator Clearing User Personalization's Clearing page personalization changes the page back to its original layout before any personalization was made. There are two ways to clear the personalization's that users have made to pages: using the Delete User Personalization page and using the User Personalization Card page.

User Personalization in Configuration mode – Dynamics NAV To open NAV in Configuration mode follow below steps : 1)  Run Command Prompt. 2) Type following command : cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\90\RoleTailored Client 3) Type the following command again : Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Client.exe -configure -profile: “Profile ID” Example : Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Client.exe -configure -profile: “IT MANAGER” Question : How to find Profile ID ? Answer : From User personalization.  4) After step 3, the client will open in configuration mode. Whatever changes you make in Role Center profile ID, it will affect all user which have same profile ID.

Creating Profile ID Shortcuts On Your Desktop 1) Go to the file location of your NAV RTC (client), highlight and right click. Select Send To: Desktop (create shortcut). 2) Right click on the shortcut icon and select: Properties a. The text within Target field should contain the client program location, ending like below:  \Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Client.exe” b. Add additional text to the end of the “Target” string like the example below: \Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Client.exe” -profile:”PROJECT MANAGER”
