POLISH CHESS FEDERATION POLAND Education Through Chess in School POLISH CHESS FEDERATION

The project is organised, guided and managed by POLISH CHESS FEDERATION in cooperation with the 16 provincial chess federations and local authorities The goal is to increase mathematical primary skills among children in the classes 1 – 3 in primary schools Implementation in 2013 – 152 schools Schools – nearly 1.300 (March 2019) Teachers – over 3.800 Pupils – over 150.000

How does it work in POLAND? Declaration of voluntary access: compulsory classes in at least one class of early education for the minimum of one hour per week for at least two years teachers with a certificate of completion the 72-hour course descriptive assessment of the activities of chess participation of students in the evaluation of the project.

PROGRAMM of training – basic courses Three parts: basics of chess play - 24 hours after every chess lesson – chess playing in practice – 8 hours metodology of chess teaching in early education – 24 hours tournament organization and the tournament for the teachers – 16 hours

Complementary courses for theachers 16-hours courses organized by the Polish Chess Federation in different cities in Poland PCF takes into consideration special needs of the teachers

Qualifications Chess tournament for the teachers – 6 rounds P’30 National categories – V – rating 1200 and IV – rating 1400 (men) After getting the IV category – title of School Chess Instructor confirmed by the special certificate issued by Polish Chess Federation Every year special, prestigeous award „HETMAN – Nauczyciel Roku” for the best teacher of the Project
