The Water Cycle

Hydrologic (Water) Cycle

Transpiration – plants/animals releasing water into the air. Infiltration- downward movement of water into the ground. Runoff – precipitation that doesn’t evaporate, transpire or infiltrate the ground - it eventually enters a body of water. Percolation –filtering down through the soil. Throughflow – water that percolates into the ground but returns to the surface before entering a body of water.
