Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011 Opening Q’s Before we start, I’d like to open the call to questions…It can be a follow up to last week, a success or personal development question, a question about your own life, a question about coaching, a comment or observation, or anything at all! Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011

Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011 Introduction Today we are going to explore the concept of, our lives as a work of art… I believe our lives ARE a work of art, that we co-create with Source. Using this frame of reference, we can learn new ways to appreciate our lives, and understand more how we would like to create our lives from this moment forward. It also, to me, highlights the sacredness of what we are involved in, yet at the same times allows us to take a step back, look at our life not as something we are deeply immersed in and at the mercy of, but something that we have a hand in making into a thing of eternal beauty and value. Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011 Initial Thoughts What excites you about the idea of your life as a work of art? Are you making any connections already? Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011

Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011 Exercise Stop and imagine your favourite work of art you’ve seen or experienced in your life. It could be a movie, it could be a painting or other visual art, it could be a musical performance, it could be a work of nature. Just meditate for a moment on this piece of art. Remember it, bring it forward, experience it again. Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011

Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011 Your Fav Art Q’s What is your fav work of art that you thought of? What do you love about it? How does it make you feel? What else does it do for you? In general, what do you look for in art? What do you love about art? Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011

Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011 What Art Can Do For Us Provide pleasure Stir emotion Cause learning/growth/change/understanding Convey information Introduce new ways of being or thinking What else does art do for us? Jot down the most important parts of art, for you Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011

Challenging Parts of Art What parts of art can be challenging for us to look at, listen to, or feel? What are the rewards for those challenging parts? Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011

Your Life as a Work of Art Imagine for a moment, that your life, it’s events, it’s scenery, it’s characters, it’s sounds, smells, tastes and feelings, form a multisensory work of art, somewhat like a multidimensional movie Imagine or jot down some of the “scenes” that jump out at you as highlights of that work of art that is your life Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011

Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011 Share a Scene Is anyone willing to share one of the scenes of their life that stands out? I’d like you to describe the scene in detail, and we will all imagine that we are appreciating that scene, like a work of art, and we will reflect back to you what we “got” out of the scene Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011

Share a Scene Observations Did anyone “get” something from the scene from our volunteer? What did you really appreciate about the scene, and how did it move you? Volunteer…If you look at that scene from your life as a work of art, what moves you about it? Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011

Critiquing Your Work of Art (life) Now, you’ll want to spend more time on this outside of our call, but spend a moment or two looking back on your life as a work of art. Does it contain all the elements that you jotted down earlier as important for you in a work of art? For me, art needs emotion, drama, pleasure, learning, truth, transcendence, spirituality, beauty When I look at my own life as a work of art, and compare it to what I look for in art, I am actually very satisfied, although I think it could use more transcendence, and beauty, perhaps Is there anything that your life could use more of, if it is YOUR work of art? Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011

Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011 At Home Exercise On your own, try this exercise: Pretend you are a “multisensory-multidimensional-movie” critic, that is writing a review of your life so far…You can actually write a review, or just think about these questions… What would they love about your movie-life? What would they find fascinating? What would they find hard to understand, or might seem out of place? What colours, ideas, feelings, visuals, dramas, etc, would be recurring themes? How would they be moved? What would they learn from your movie? How would they be changed by your movie? What might they think is missing? Would they enjoy your movie? Why? ADVANCED – Re-write the movie review to reflect your life as you imagine it can be…What would make your very best work of art? Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011

Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011 Final Thoughts Any final thoughts before we sign-off? Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011

Copyright (c) Michele Caron, 2011 Next Call Our next call will be Tuesday September 13th, a coaching techniques call We may change to Wednesday nights in October, please email me your thoughts about that idea, how it would work for you Have a great week and enjoy producing your art!
