IPAC Staff Notification Options Jlab mailing list (Ipac15notification@jlab.org) All major carriers have email addresses associated with phones (##########@mobile.att.net) Everyone/anyone can send a text from their phone to this email address, that phone will then be manually added to the list (by Theo) You don’t have to know your phone’s email address, ever Emails to the list will be sent as texts to every registered phone Pros: Existing lab system, admin control, text notifications (don’t have to open email app, etc.) Cons: Uses email system, so not guaranteed-fast, have to train people not to text back (“Meet in room 108” “OK” “OMW” “be rite their” “you spelled that wrong” “shut up” “no you shut up!” “…”) IPAC twitter account Setup a twitter account for IPAC notifications Everyone can sign up to follow it Anyone authorized can post to it and it will get pushed out to everyone signed up for it Pros: it’s twitter Cons: it’s twitter I don’t really use twitter, so… learning curve (though you can follow me: @TheoNotTed #OneFollowerSoFar)
