If an authorship dispute cannot be resolved directly with collaborators and co-authors, the situation should be discussed with the next appropriate level of authority at OUHSC until a resolution is made (Figure A). Unresolved authorship disputes involving OUHSC faculty or staff from different divisions/departments should be mediated by the next authority to whom both individuals report (i.e. Associate Dean for Research, then Dean); the OUHSC Vice President for Research will mediate disputes involving individuals at OUHSC from different colleges or involving individuals from external institutions (Table B).
