REBELLION AGAINST GOD

ADJUSTING GODS LAW IS AN EARLY STEP TOWARD REBELLION ADJUSTING GOD’S LAW TO ACCOMMODATE SINFULLY SELFISH SCHEDULES IS DANGEROUSLY REBELLIOUS SCHEDULING CONTROLLED BY SINFUL PLANS LEADS TO REBELLION, UNHAPPINESS, AND DEATH THE POWER OF GOD’S SPIRIT APPLYS GOD’S LAW TO HELP US SCHEDULE OUR LIVES IF OUR SCHEDULING FOLLOWS GOD’S LAW WE CAN HAVE LIVES OF PEACE THAT ARE PLEASING TO GOD SCHEDULES ACCOMMODATING SINFUL SELVES CANNOT BE PLEASING TO GOD

In Romans 8:5-8Paul warns, 5 Those who live following their sinful selves think only about things that their sinful selves want. But those who live following the Spirit are thinking about the things the Spirit wants them to do. 6 If people’s thinking is controlled by the sinful self, there is death. But if their thinking is controlled by the Spirit, there is life and peace. 7 When people’s thinking is controlled by the sinful self, they are against God, because they refuse to obey God’s law and really are not even able to obey God’s law. 8 Those people who are ruled by their sinful selves cannot please God.

James 1:22-25 further explains how Rebellion begins 22 Do what God’s teaching says; when you only listen and do nothing, you are fooling yourselves. 23 Those who hear God’s teaching and do nothing are like people who look at themselves in a mirror. 24 They see their faces and then go away and quickly forget what they looked like. 25 But the truly happy people are those who carefully study God’s perfect law that makes people free, and they continue to study it. They do not forget what they heard, but they obey what God’s teaching says. Those who do this will be made happy.

A SINFUL SELF’S SCHEDULE CAN BE A PATH TO REBELLION OBSESSION TO WHAT WE WANT SUPPLANTS THE LEADING OF GOD’S SPIRIT AND LEADS TO DEATH THINKING OF SINFUL WANTS BECOMES A ROUTINE PART OF A REBELLIOUS SCHEDULE REALLY LOOKING IN THE MIRROR OF GOD’S WORD AT WHAT WE ARE BECOMING CAN HELP REFOCUS OUR SCHEDULING, TO FOLLOW GOD’S PERFECT LAW AND END OUR REBELLION. GOD’S SCHEDULING WILL LEAD TO HAPPINESS AND FULFILLMENT

GOD’s SCHEDULE GOD UNDERSTANDS TIME AND HOW MUCH TIME HAVE, AND HOW WE SCHEDULE OUR TIME GOD HAS A FOREVER SCHEDULED PLAN FOR ISRAEL ACCORDING TO GOD’S WORD ISRAEL THOUGHT GOD’S SCHEDULE WAS A LITTLE SKETCHY AND THEY REBELLED MAYBE, LIKE ISRAEL, WE TOO THINK WE HAVE A BETTER MORE UP TO DATE UNDERSTANDING OF HOW THINGS SHOULD BE SCHEDULED NOT ONE OF US REALLY UNDERSTANDS… CHILDREN SHOULD FOLLOW PARENTS SCHEDULES, WE SHOULD FOLLOW GOD’S

REVOLT FROM GOD’S SCHEDULE CORRUPTS OUR MOTIVES MOSES THOUGHT; THIS IS THE PLAN? Israelites wanted to return to Egypt, but Moses followed God’s schedule leading God’s people out of Egypt. He followed God’s miracles and signs in Egypt, at the Red Sea, then 40 years in the wilderness. According to Stephen’s Acts 7 sermon, these same people revolted from God’s plan for idols and stuff they made. They sacrificed and served this stuff and they were proud or their plan… Stephen said God turned against them and left them alone. Just before his audience killed him, Stephen said,“You stubborn people! You have not given your hearts to God, nor will you listen to him! You are always against what the Holy Spirit is trying to tell you, just as your ancestors were.”

REFUSING JESUS’ SACRIFICE AS THE ONLY SCHEDULE FOR SALVATION IS REBELLION THERE IS NO WAY TO GOD OTHER THAN JESUS PEOPLE WANT TO SCHEDULE THEMSELVES, AND THEY REBEL AGAINST JESUS’ WORDS OF LIFE THIS IS REBELLION FROM GOD’S PLAN THE POWER OF GOD’S SPIRIT APPLYS GOD’S LAW TO HELP US SCHEDULE OUR LIVES IF OUR SCHEDULING FOLLOWS GOD’S LAW ACCEPTING HIS SACRIFICE FOR SALVATION, WE CAN HAVE LIVES OF PEACE THAT ARE PLEASING TO GOD

REJECTING GOD’S SALVATION THROUGH JESUS IS ULTIMATE REBELLION 1 So we must be more careful to follow what we were taught. Then we will not stray away from the truth. 2 The teaching God spoke through angels was shown to be true, and anyone who did not follow it or obey it received the punishment that was earned. 3 So surely we also will be punished if we ignore this great salvation. Hebrews 2:1-3 is a serious word from God. Obedience adjusts our lives to accepting, following, and scheduling our life plan to his Law God’s eternal plan for our futures avoids the punishment of hell which is eternally scheduled for all who ignore His Salvation

JESUS HAS A QUESTION 46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ but do not do what I say? 47 I will show you what everyone is like who comes to me and hears my words and obeys. 48 That person is like a man building a house who dug deep and laid the foundation on rock. When the floods came, the water tried to wash the house away, but it could not shake it, because the house was built well. 49 But the one who hears my words and does not obey is like a man who built his house on the ground without a foundation. When the floods came, the house quickly fell and was completely destroyed.” DISOBEYING GOD’S SALVATION PLAN REBELS AGAINST JESUS’ SACRIFICE AND ENDS WITH DESTRUCTION

JESUS HAS A GREAT SCHEDULE FOR OUR FUTURES In Matthew 11 Jesus calls us…28 “Come to me, all of you who are tired and have heavy loads, and I will give you rest. 29 Accept my teachings and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit, and you will find rest for your lives. 30 The burden that I ask you to accept is easy; the load I give you to carry is light.” Luke 18 reminds we should come simply as obedient, trusting children…16 But Jesus called for the children, saying, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because the kingdom of God belongs to people who are like these children. 17 I tell you the truth, you must accept the kingdom of God as if you were a child, or you will never enter it.”

SATAN IS ALWAYS BAITING OUR SINFUL SELVES REBELLION IS HARD WORK RELAX THIS MORNING LET YOUR HEART OPEN TO GODS SCHEDULE, AND ACCEPT HIS PLAN FOR YOUR ETERNITY SATAN IS ALWAYS BAITING OUR SINFUL SELVES COMING TO JESUS IS DENYING EVERYTHING BUT REMEMBER SATAN’S PLAN FOR SINFUL SELF INDULGENCE LEAD STRAIGHT TO HELL
