And The Physics of Orbits Newton’s Third Law And The Physics of Orbits
According to Newton’s Third Law… If a Satellite is pulled on by the Object it orbits it must pull back with an equal amount of force. The Object around which the satellite orbits will itself orbit a point just out side its center. It will “wobble” a bit.
Finding other Solar Systems If a Star has planets orbiting it, It will wobble. If the planets are large enough the wobble may be detectable from Earth For Example: In 2000 Epsilon Eridani, a star 10.5 Light years from Earth was found to wobble, indicating that at least one Gas Giant larger than Jupiter orbits it. More Recently Asteroid Belts have and planets have been found around many stars. We actually taken pictures of them
Here are a few planets “found by the wobble method
The first imaged around star GQ Lupi
Here we see both an asteroid belt and an extra-solar planet around the star Fomalhaut.
Around Epsilon Eridani
As you can see Epsilon Eridani is a solar system like ours but… So far no inner planets have been found (they might be soon) There are two asteroid belts
