Mr. Rodney Jones, Jr Originally from Spotsylvania VA UVa graduate with bachelors in history and masters degree in teaching Recently started at Valley -- Albemarle County Schools Avid Redskins fan!

Mr. Saeil Oh (Sam) Originally from Busan, South Korea, moved to Fairfax, VA about 12 years ago George Mason graduate with bachelors in history and masters degree in teaching Recently started at Valley, but going into 4th year in AP Psych with Mr. Jones! Avid Yankees fan!

What is AP Psych The AP Psychology course is designed to introduce students to the systematic and scientific study of the behavior and mental processes of human beings and other animals. Students are exposed to the psychological facts, principles, and phenomena associated with each of the major subfields within psychology. They also learn about the ethics and methods psychologists use in their science and practice.

AP Information AP Psych is the study of behavior and human mental processes/mind This course is a college-level course; Good AP scores could mean college credit; disclaimer Students need to expect more work and more independence Support your student through asking them what they did in Psych today

Expectations There will be about 9-11 unit exams throughout the year (every other week) – about 80 MC questions, one essay Q. (AP Exam) Plus, one vocab quiz per week (20-25 vocabs) A good amount of reading (will need to read at least one chapter a week – about 30 pages) A good amount of writing (FRQs, Article Summaries, Replies) Individual and Group Projects Support from Mr. Jones/Mr. Oh

Ultimately This is a worthwhile course High Expectations, but great payoff Learn and grow!
