Why not during His 40-day Resurrection appearances? Why did Jesus choose this moment to care for the future needs of his widowed mother? Why not earlier at The Last Supper? Why not during His 40-day Resurrection appearances?

Jesus was showing us something important about God’s heart towards us: God cares about the details, the “small stuff” and concerns of our daily lives. In essence, Jesus is saying: “Mary, I love you. I care about your future. I’m going to make sure you’re taken care of.”

Is He too busy or preoccupied with the redemption of the world How do you view God? Is He too busy or preoccupied with the redemption of the world to care about the stuff that’s bringing you pain right now? Do you have minor details in your life you would never bring to Him, because He just doesn’t care? Jesus’ words to Mary shows us otherwise.
