Selection Methods – Goods and Services Competitive Selection Process Advertised if above $250,000 (see www.worldbank.org\corporateprocurement) Invited Short List Single or Sole Source Selection Sole Source selection where there is only one company that can provide the goods or services. This usually involves proprietary technologies or methodologies. Discuss QCBS and briefly summarize QBS. Refer participants to consultant guidelines for more information on other methods. Selection Methods – Goods and Services (continued) Single-source selection may be appropriate only if it presents a clear advantage over competition: for tasks that represent a natural continuation of previous work carried out by the firm in emergency cases, such as in response to disasters and for consulting services required during the period of time immediately following the emergency for very small assignments Discuss QCBS and briefly summarize QBS.
